ChartBand reads your lead sheets on your phone and keeps them there. There is no account, no server of ours, and nothing is uploaded.
What stays on your device
- Your photos and scans. The pages you photograph are read by the app on your phone or iPad. They are stored only on that device and are never sent anywhere.
- The chords and the melody it reads. Stored on your device with the scan. The melody is never exported or shared.
- Your settings (tempo, key, band, instrument) — stored on your device.
What leaves your device
- Sharing a chart. If you choose to share a chord chart, the app sends the chords and form only — never your photo, never the melody — and only to where you send it.
- Purchases. The free trial, subscription and lifetime unlock are sold through Apple’s App Store. To check what you’ve bought, the app uses RevenueCat, which receives your App Store receipt and an anonymous device identifier it generates (not your name, email or Apple ID). RevenueCat’s policy: revenuecat.com/privacy.
- Nothing else. The app has no analytics and no crash reporting of its own. (If you have chosen to share diagnostics with developers in iOS Settings, Apple may pass us crash logs; they contain no page content.)
Camera
The camera is used only when you choose to photograph a page. The image is processed on the device.
Children
ChartBand is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal data from anyone.
